The heritage of Johnnie Walker blended whiskies dates to 1820 when John Walker opened a provisions shop in Kilmamock, Scotland and began selling Scotch Whiskey. John Walker made a name for himself by mastering the art of blending single malt whiskies from distilleries all across Scotland to create a product of highest quality, infinitely greater than the sum of the individual component whiskies. John Walker handed down his knowledge and skill to his heirs, and thus began the House of Walker, the Scotch dynasty which helped create and shape the world’s Scotch Whisky trade.
